“Disaster Planning for Professional Pet Sitters” is an online certificate program that was designed by Pet Safety Crusader™ Denise Fleck with Pet Sitters International. This certificate program focuses on disaster planning as it applies to professional pet sitters and instructs students in how to put their disaster plan in action. This course is ideal for pet sitters at all stages of business.
This course has been approved for 6 CEUs for Certified Professional Pet Sitters (CPPS), 6 CEUs by the Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC), and 6 CEUs for the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).

When you sign up for Disaster Planning for Professional Pet Sitters, you will get immediate access to the course. The program is conducted through a series of easy-to-follow video tutorials, which can be completed at your own pace over a three-month period.
This five-section online course will teach you:
- How to prepare your disaster plan
- What supplies you need for pets and their people
- How to put your plan into action
- Disaster specific tips for over 20 natural and man-made disasters, including civil uprisings, wildfires, earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes and many more
- First aid basics for pets and people
Pet sitters successfully completing this course and passing the final exam will earn the "Certificate in Disaster Planning for Professional Pet Sitters."
Plus, PSI members who earn the Certificate in Disaster Planning for Professional Pet Sitters will have the icon added to their profiles on PSI's Pet Sitter Locator.

This course has six sections with more than six hours of video training on topics ranging from creating your disaster plan to responding to specific disasters to understanding first aid basics.
Exam to test your knowledge
At the end of this course, you will complete a 45-question comprehension assessment. Upon successful completion of that test, you will be able to receive your certificate.
Certificate of completion
Upon successful completion of this course, you will receive a Certificate in Disaster Planning for Professional Pet Sitters, which you can proudly display in your office or when meeting new clients.
